Item Description
Polianite is a morphological variety of Pyrolusite. Striking intergrown splendent metallic sprays of pyrolusite blades cover three sides of this rich and showy blocky miniature. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1239 and acquired from the Shale's in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Rich and excellent old-time 360-degree material from this extinct small open pit iron mine and prospects.
