Item Description
Striking large diverging sprays of lustrous metallic-grat pyrolusite blades form an impressive large and sculptural 360-degree specimen. This exceptional piece is from the extinct Taylor Mine, an obscure, small open-pit iron mine and nearby prospects noted for fine pyrolusite specimens. Ex Roy Drier Collection, a Professor of Metallurgy at Michigan Tech and donated to the Seeman Museum following his death in 1974. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1999. Pyrolusite specimens of this size, richness and quality are rare from here. Or anywhere.
