This obscure, small open-pit iron mine and nearby prospects are well-known for excellent pyrolusite specimens. This is a very showy and excellent large combination plate from the Robert Nowakowski Collection. Lustrous, metallic, bladed, pyrolusite crystal clusters to 2.0 cm are attractively scattered in the quartz crystal-lined vug. Nifty hematite botryoids cover the hematite and quartz matrix. The backside holds a major surprise! A striking septarian is embedded in another quartz crystal-lined vug. Rare and fine combination material from this locale.
