Dramatically sculptural, classic old-time pyrolusite from the famous deposits at Ilfeld, source of the world's finest manganite specimens. Fantastic shrub-like clusters composed of spherical aggregates of scintillating acicular pyrolusite crystals rise up from the sculptural massive manganese ore matrix. Crystals of this quality are very uncommon and this is an exceptional example. Both sides of this superb small cabinet display supremely. The paper fragment glued to the bottom of the piece adds even more allure to this exceptional old-timer from an East Coast collection. Comes with a faded century-old and water-stained label.
