Item Description

Here we have good quality crystallized specimen of manganese oxide, Pyrolusite from near Las Cruces, New Mexico. This miniature sized piece is filled with striated groups of attractive brilliant, metallic, dark grey-black colored prismatic crystals, showing a bit of chatoyancy when rotated in the light, sitting on a thin layer of massive Pyrolusite matrix. The crystals measure to about 6 mm. A nice overall example specimen of this uncommon material.
