Item Description
First off, I have to point out that these specimens will often be labeled as "Pyrochlore" which used to be a valid species, but starting in 2010, the term Pyrochlore was used as a group name for the various niobium dominant species of the Pyrochlore Supergroup. Additionally, it is not possibly to identify the crystals visually, so they are still often abled simply as "Pyrochlore". This piece is a fine quality example with a dark golden-brown hue, above average luster and well-formed faces on multiple sides. The piece is in good shape, but there is a bit of roughness / incomplete growth in spots where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Today it is incredibly difficult to find specimens like this with good sized crystals of high quality and luster. Valued $950.
From the collection of Colin Manlove.
