Item Description

The well-known alkali pegmatites at Mount Malosa are famous for excellent and large aegirine crystals, feldspars, arfvedsonites and rare Be minerals. They also host an excellent suite of REE minerals. Pyrochlore Group combinations are rare and desirable. This sculptural and excellent miniature combination is highlighted by the sharp well-placed 5 mm, brown pyrochlore octahedron aestheticlly attached to the side of a 2.5 cm aegirine crystal. Scattered aegirines and pyrochlore crystals on the sculptural intergrown pair of sharp porcelaneous Manebach-twinned microcline crystals make for a striking, excellent and rare combination from the Francesco Bedogne Collection # 129. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
