Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this combination specimen is an excellent example. Mirror-bright, brass-yellow, intergrown, pyrite cubes cover the sculptural specimen. The largest crystal is 1.7 cm The pyrite cubes are richly overgrown with unusually formed, mostly flattened sphalerite crystals, that have galena fortification look. The textbook form and intense luster are top notch. Nearly pristine, trivial scattered edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction. Classic Huanzala material with several excellent display views! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
