Item Description

A classic piece of the well known Pyrite and Quartz combos from the famous deposits in King County, Washington. This piece features a trio of sharp, well-formed, striated cubes of Pyrite mesauring up to 1.7 cm which play host to a single, sharp, gemmy prismatic Quartz crystal measuring 4.2 cm. The Quartz is damage free, but the Pyrites are contacted around the base. SUPER aesthetics, and a very desirable miniature of this beloved material. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with a typed label from Wulff on one of his famous 3x5 index cards. Valued at $500.
