Item Description

Incredibly lustrous, sharp, well-striated, mirror-bright, brass-yellow, pyrite pyritohedrons are superbly complimented by glassy, water-clear, quartz needles and sharp, battleship gray, galena crystals on this showy and excellent combination plate from the famous Casapalca Mine of Peru. The large galena crystal, at 1.7 cm, has a striking fortification face. Scattered bruising is noted, but is certainly a modest detraction. Amazing and beautiful combination material from the heyday of production from this noted locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
