Pyrite w/ Hematite (classic locale)

Item Description

A classic, 5.5 cm, pyritohedron with striking stepped-growth faces is jauntily perched on bladed hematite matrix on this sculptural and aesthetic combination from the ancient iron mines on Elba Island. The sharp crystal has mirror-bright, brass-yellow faces. The bit of noted periphery wear to this very fine crystal with excellent form is certainly only a modest detraction to this combination classic. From an East Collection and probably older pyrite, but no proof.
