Item Description

Mineral specimens from this obscure old mine are seldom available, as it has been consumed by the huge Bingham open pit. Sharp, intergrown, pyrite pyritohedrons form a very showy mounded miniature. The lustrous, lightly tarnished, brassy crystals have eye catching moderate iridescence and some faces have a dark chalcocite coating. A showy, excellent and rare piece from the Bob Trimingham Collection. The piece displays great on three sides, with the bruised side being mostly out-of-sight.
