Item Description

A striking, sharp, 4.0 x 3.5 cm compound pyrite cuboctahedron is dramatically set atop the pristine floater nodule of intergrown pyrite crystals on this outstanding small cabinet from this well-known limestone cement quarry outside of Dallas. The crystals are lustrous to moderately lustrous and have a bronzy-brassy color hue. Texas is known as mostly a mineral wasteland, but this is a fine exception from the Joe Lobell Collection.
