Item Description
An outstanding, old-time pyrite crystal from this historic iron mining district with a fine provenance. The sharp, pyritohedron has mirror-bright luster and rich brass-yellow color. The etched faces add real pizzazz. Superb in every way, this is a very important classic, and a very fine pyrite specimen as well. It is valued at $2000. Perhaps it is worth more, especially in Europe and for Euros? Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base, valued at $145 (for free). Ex Roberto Palumbo (1929), Mitch Gunnell and Dr. Ed David Collections. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and has assembled several world-class mineral collections.
