Item Description

This is not your typical pyrite, for sure...not in common crystal habit or in overall shape. It features a curving stalactite of pyrite crystals dramatically going up from a natural pedestal, with razor sharp crystals to 1.8 cm atop. They are seemingly textbook-sharp pyritohedrons. According to this math website (https://mathworld.wolfram.com/Pyritohedron.html): A pyritohedron is an irregular dodecahedron composed of identical irregular pentagons. The name "pyritohedron" derives from that fact that a common crystal form in pyrite has this shape. It is absolutely gorgeous, no matter what shape - clearly very different from most contemporary Huanzala pyrite specimens. It just has a shape and a brightness to it, that catches the eye.
