Pyrite (spherical) with Calcite (rare locality specimen)

Item Description

An interesting and unique combo specimen from the lesser-known Santa Bárbara Mine in Chihuahua, Mexico featuring attractive, somewhat coppery/iridescent, oddly spherical groups of Pyrite which are associated with "dogtooth" habit Calcite crystals of a grey-white hue measuring up to 8 mm long on matrix. It's one of the VERY few examples we've ever seen from this obscure ore deposit. It should be noted that the accompanying label states it's from the "Segoveded Mine" in Santa Barbara, but I can't find a reference to this locality anywhere. Still a very attractive and incredibly hard to find association specimen that would make a great addition to any worldwide sulfide suite or a collection of Mexican minerals.
