Item Description

Pyrite is uncommon at Tsumeb perhaps due to the scarcity of iron at Tsumeb, and specimens are RARE in significant amounts and sizes. This exceptional small cabinet features sharp, lustrous, brassy, striated pyritohedrons, to 1.2 cm, richly and dramatically perched atop the sintered sulfide matrix coated with patches of starkly contrasting drusy malachite or another copper oxide. This is an outstanding rarity with large crystals of the species and displays well without aid. A MUST for the Tsuemb collector! Seldom seen.
