Pyrite is RARE from the Pikes Peak area and this aesthetic old-time small cabinet has an oustanding provenance, having formerly been in the collection of George Kunz (kunzite) 1856-1932. Kunz was hired as a gem expert by Tiffany & Company when he was 23 and rose to Vice President. He was also a prominent and prolific author and held numerous important positions in the gem and mineral industry. Intergrown, lustrous, brassy cubes to 1.5 cm are aesthetically set in the gossan matrix. Ex Herb Obodda Collection # 3177. Value of such a Colorado rarity with a super provenance???
