Pyrite dodecahedrons and pyritohedrons are VERY RARE from Panasqueira, according to the recent Mineralogical Record Special Issue on this renowned locale. A rare and superb, 2.5 x 1.8 x 1.5, sharp, brassy, pyritohedron with nifty light iridescence dramatically crowns the triangular, undulating specimen of intergrown pyritohedrons peppered with colorless, translucent, calcite disks. A modest bit of edge wear to the large crystal and periphery wear on the base is noted, but certainly has minimal impact to the importance of this fine rarity.
