The "Duff" Quarry in Ohio is one of the most famous localities in the world for the diploid habit. If you type "diploid pyrite" into Google, you'll see this locality fills the search results. This is a CLASSIC specimen of these well-known and hard to find Pyrites featuring dozens of crystals measuring up to 6 mm on Calcite on host rock matrix. The crystals have bright metallic luster, rich golden color and many of them are undamaged. Don't miss out on this beautiful and crystallographically interesting specimen of this famous material. For reference, a diploid crystal is defined as having 24 congruent irregular quadrilateral faces. The name comes from a Latin root for half, because half of the 48 faces for full isometric symmetry are present.
