Item Description
An example of the classic Quartz/Pyrite/Galena combinations from the famous Huaron Mines in Peru. The slender, gemmy Quartz crystals average about 1 cm in length, while the Pyrites and Galenas are about .5 cm across. The Pyrites are either pyritohedrons or striated modified cubes, and the Galenas have complex habits also. The luster on the Pyrite is excellent. What makes this particualr specimen stand out is the distinct visibility of the Pyrites. More often than not, they are lost among a forest of Quartz crystals. Here, the different species give each other room to breathe. There are distinct areas where each dominates. The balance and aesthetics are excellent.
