Pyrite & Quartz (2012 find)

Item Description

A striking, sharp, beautiful, 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm, pyrite cube with classic mirror-bright brass-yellow color and lustre and dramatic striated prism faces is elegantly set on a bed of diverging glassy, tapering quartz crystals. The modified corner on the cube and smaller pryites add real character to the miniature. The quartz points reach 2.5 cm. The cube is complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a few trivial edge and corner wilbers. This outstanding 360-degree combination from recent finds at the Racracancha mine has mulitple super display views. Every turn and angle change adds distinctively different visual appreciation to this cutie. Uncommon material from this less well-known Peru mine.
