Item Description

Mirror-bright, sharp, moderately-striated, brass-yellow pyrite pyritohedrons form a striking and excellent plate from the Quiruvilca Mine. The crystals are up to 3.6 cm on the diagonal and are sprinkled with gemmy, rubyjack sphalerites and dusted with tiny, sparkly pyrites. The front is pristine. This is an excellent two-sided plate, with sharp crystals on the backside. Contacting is noted, but there is almost no actual damage, per se. You also note a string of rounded rubyjack crystal clusters along one edge. This choice piece dates to the heyday of production in the early to mid-1970s and compares very favorably to the best from more common Huanzala. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
