Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and is an outstanding example. A superb, complete all-around pyritohedron has textbook crystal form, mirror-bright, brass-yellow, color with intense, undulating, stepped-growth faces. The large crystal aesthetically rests on a nest of smaller pyrites. The textbook form, intense color, luster and striations are top notch. A trivial bit of edgewaear is noted, but is certainly a modest detraction. Classic Huanzala material with several excellent display views! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. Ex Gene Meieran Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
