Item Description

This piece has amazing metallic luster and rich coloration, and is a complete replacement from old finds at Dalnegorsk! It consists of a sparkling, yellow druse of pyrite that has replaced parallel, tabular crystals of what was once pyrrhotite that reached up to 3 cm in size. Oxidation in the mine, has added color variation to the pyrite crystals, so it sparkles and shines with iridescent color play. This is a very fine small cabinet specimen from the refined aesthetic pseudomorph collection of dealer/collector Ken Roberts, which we purchased in part back in 2017. It is a classic of old Russian minerals, probably from the 90s or early 2000s era, and seldom seen in such quality. Valued $1200-1500. (ex. Ken Roberts Pseudomorph coll.)
