Item Description
A highly unusual pyrite specimen in any size, and one of the joys of the large Pyrite suite in this collection: This is an aesthetic 320-million-year-old pyritized Ammonite wrapped around a ball of pyrite micro-xtls. Pyrite on Pyrite, in a form! In 2016, the owner of the property said all collecting must stop. Pyritization preserved the goniatitic sutures that characterize Paleozoic ammonites.
