Pyrite crystals from the various mines in Butte, Montana are renowned for their individual beauty and wonderful associations. This small cabinet display specimen features many sharp, bright, brass-yellow Pyrite pyritohedrons with well-defined striations measuring up to 8 mm sitting atop a matrix of crystallized white prismatic Quartz. Both the front and back of the specimen are crystallized, and despite a bit of roughness to some Pyrite crystals, the piece is in pretty good shape overall. A old-time classic from Butte that comes to us from the collection of noted Idaho Geary Murdock.
