Pyrite on Quartz (circa 1920)

Item Description

Collected in the 1920's according to the previous owners, this outstanding Pyrite cluster is from St. Agnes in the famous Cornwall area, which is located on the very southern tip of England. These Pyrites are exceptionally well-crystallized for the area, and have a bright metallic luster and very finely-stepped edges and faces. The largest crystal is up to 1.7 cm on edge, and the crystals intergrow at angles that create a lovely aesthetic. And as good as the pics are, it is even better in person. Formerly in the collections of D.R. & E.M Hacker and recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection. Tim specialized particularly in Scotland and English classics.
