Item Description
A very RARE and impressive large MATRIX pyrite specimen from 1970s finds at this most obscure Turkey locale. Most pyrites from here are single, loose crystals. Sharp, highly lustrous, brassy octahedrons are dramatically set on all sides of the sculptural large matrix of a dense, soft, talc-like mineral. The octahedrons reach 2.5 cm and the sharp impressions, where other crystals once lay in the matrix add much character. Old-time SELDOM on the market today with this size in matrix with many crystals. This is classic old mineralogical material, textbook form, and a large example.
