Item Description

A classic find from the famous mine, very characteristic of probablyt he most famous pocket from here (in the 1970s): this is "textbook" Elba pyrite. It features a perfect, lustrous, bronze colored, pyritohedron of pyrite measuring 4.9 cm in length, aesthetically emplaced on very lustrous crystals of black hematite, to 2.8 cm across. A well-balanced specimen for the size range, in excellent condition. I have seen these at Munich on the shelves of European dealers at a wide variety of prices, from hundreds of $$ to thousands.
