Item Description

Pyrite specimens are VERY RARE from the historic mines at Taxco. This striking piece features a well-placed elongated cluster of unusually rounded, stepped-growth, lustrous, brassy pyrite crystals on a two-sided rib covered with tightly intergrown calcite rhombs with interesting forms. One side looks to have casted/pseudomorphed calcites after tabular barite blades. An excellent and rare combination from this famous locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
