Item Description

An exceptional and very rare in this quality, mounded cluster of mirror-bright, brass-yellow pyrite pyritohedrons from the famous Kennecott Mine of the Bingham District of Utah. The crystals are strongly striated and the large, complete all-around, crowning crystal is 2.2 x 2.0 cm. Well-developed crystals of ANY SPECIES are UNCOMMON from Bingham Canyon and this is an excellent one. Scattered edgewear and a bit of periphery wear are noted, but are very modest detractions to this fine, older piece. An old CLOTH label is attached to the bottom of the piece.
