Item Description
The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the worlds finest pyrites and this Robert Fender CABINET specimen is an outstanding example. Mirror-bright, brass-yellow, intergrown, octahedrons cover the sculptural, undulating matrix of massive pyrite. The largest crystal is 2.0 cm The textbook form and intense luster are top notch. Nearly pristine, the trivial scattered edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction visually or in context. We rate this quite highly, and valued $750-900 range. Classic Huanzala material. Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s.
