Mirror-bright, brassy, sharp pyrite octahedrons to 2.5 cm form a striking and excellent mounded plate from the famous mines at Butte. Butte produced some of finest US pyrites and this is highly representative 360-degree example. The bit of periphery wear is only a modest detraction to this classic old-timer.
