Pyrite (NEW FIND!)

A fine quality and showy Pyrite specimen from a brand new find said to be from the Beruang Tengah Prospect, Indonesia. Our source in Jakarta picked up a select few pieces a couple months ago and they are certainly the best Pyrites we've ever had to offer from Indonesia. I've only seen a handful of Pyrite specimens from various Indonesian localities, but this new lot is as good or better than anything we've handled. This small cabinet specimen features many sharp, well-formed, highly lustrous/splendent, soft metallic golden colored pyritohedral crystals of Pyrite measuring up to 1.8 cm across, associated with Quartz on matrix. A bit of metallic silvery Galena and what appears to be Tetrahedrite/Tennantite are present on the specimen as well. The larger Pyrite crystals are in good condition, with only a tiny bit of roughness, but there are some contacted areas where the piece was presumably separated from the pocket wall. If you collect worldwide Pyrites, this is something that I doubt you have in your collection, and we only have a handful to offer, so don't miss out, because there's never any guarantee that more will be available.
