Pyrite (near ''floater'' specimen) (ex Richard Rossi Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful Pyrite specimen from the lesser known Racracancha mine in Peru. It features some beautifully sharp, lustrous, heavily striated well-formed cubic crystals on every side. One of the crystals actually has a fairly large pyritohedral modification on one of the corners, but virtually every other crystal doesn't show this modification. The largest cube measures 2.5 cm on edge. The piece is nearly a "floater", as it's crystallized all over, with only a few tiny points of attachment on the base. Very little damage, and quite showy and good quality overall. You don't see many pieces from this mine on the market, and if you collect Pyrite, sulfides or Peruvian minerals, this one is worth picking up for your collection. Priced at $850 in our inventory.
