Item Description
A sculptural and impressive large contrasting combination plate from this less well-known Peruvian mine. Sharp, etched, frosted pastel-pink manganoan calcite rhombs, to 2.7 cm on edge, are aesthetically intergrown, fill the interior of the pyrite plate and are dramatically surrounded by striking mirror-bright, brass-yellow, well-striated pyrite cubes. The imposing large cube on top is 2.9 cm on edge. The bit of noted edge and periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this exceptional and rare large combination of the species and locale. Stunning neon fluorescence. Choice material from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this at $850 more than seven years ago. It is worth more today.
