Item Description

A classic, old-time combination specimen from the historic French Creek Mine. This showy and excellent piece is highlighted by a 3.5 x 2.1 cm, cluster of highly lustrous, brass-yellow, pyrite cubes. The pyrite cluster is flanked on the left by a nubby, octahedral magnetite crystal and on the right by a striking field of very glassy and transparent, enechelon, calcite rhombs included with fibrous, green actinolite, which causes the calcites to have a very nifty green tint. Outstanding and uncommon combination material from this historic mine. Ex Charles Velte Collection and comes with a faded older label of his. Much better in person.
