Pyrite (large crystal for the locality)

The Shangbao Mine is well-known for its gorgeous, colorful, gemmy Fluorite specimens. Pyrite is not rare from this locality, but the crystals are typically small (typically around 1 cm). This fantastic miniature sized specimen hosts a predominant, very sharp, lustrous, metallic, golden colored elongated cubic crystal measures 3.8 cm long associated with a second Pyrite cube with minor pearly white (and partially iron-stained) Dolomite on the reverse side. No, it's not the world's greatest Pyrite specimen, but it's one of the largest Pyrite cubes we've ever had to offer from the locality, which is significant if you collect Pyrite, sulfides or Chinese minerals. The piece is in very good shape, with only a few small nicks, and no major damage on the display side. Priced at $650 in the inventory.
