Item Description

A beautiful and unusual iridescent Pyrite specimen from China. Originally, it was reported to be from the Daye mine, then somebody else told me these were coming out of the Guangdong Province, and a third (and most trusted) source in China told me he saw them in Hunan Province (purportedly the Shangbao Mine). Nonetheless, it's a gorgeous miniature display specimen with virtually NO damage. The modified cuboctahedral crystals with the rainbow / peacock iridescence make for a really eye-catching overall piece. A great opportunity to purchase a lovely specimen of a common species with an unusual coloration. Perfect for a worldwide Pyrite collection, a suite of miniatures, or even just Chinese minerals.
