Item Description

A beautiful and unusual iridescent Pyrite specimen from China. Originally, it was reported to be from the Daye mine, then somebody else told me these were coming out of the Guangdon Province, and a third (and most trusted) source in China told me he saw them in Hunan Province (purportedly the Shangbao Mine). Nonetheless, it's a gorgeous large miniature / small cabinet display specimen with virtually NO damage. The modified cuboctahedral crystals with the rainbow / peacock iridescence make for a really eye-catching overall piece. The predominant 2.6 cm crystal asthetically sitting at the topmost portion of the specimen makes it all the more enticing. A great opportunity to purchase a lovely specimen of a common species with an unusual coloration. Perfect for a worldwide Pyrite collection, a suite of miniatures / small cabinets or even just Chinese minerals.
