Item Description
Here is one of the more interesting finds from around 2005 in Bolivia. Typically, Bolivian Pyrite is not found in attractive, displayable, well-crystallized specimens. This however is one of the better specimens I've offered of this material in the action. The specimen almost completely undamaged on the display side and is loaded with several trapezohedra modified by octahedra which is a rather uncommon crystal habit for this rather common sulfide. Lastly, some beautiful brown "rosette" of Siderite can be seen mixed in with the Pyrite crystals. The largest Pyrite measures 1.3 cm across. All of the Pyrites are very bright and shiny, so they were somewhat difficult to photograph, but the piece looks great in person.
