Item Description
An unusual, completely rounded, pyrite concretion or aggregate! It is a very neat piece, and is both complete and attractive. We did not have a more specific locality but thanks to a viewer for this: I was looking through the auctions that are ending tonight and saw that you did not know the locality for the pyrite ball from New York. It looks exactly like several that I have collected from Alden, NY. They form around fossils and if they are sliced in half, the fossil is very easy to see. I have several in my collection (both complete and sliced) and one of them has a nautiloid and another a brachiopod in the center.
