Item Description
When it comes to crystallized sulfides, some of the finest representations from the United States are those from Butte, Montana. A fantastic display specimen from the famous Leonard Mine featuring a superb crystallized group of sharp, lustrous, striated, soft golden metallic colored Pyrite on crystallize Quartz matrix. The Pyrite crystals show a beautiful combination of pyritohedral and octahedral faces, giving them a wonderful balance of triangular faces on all sides. The largest crystal on the specimen measures 3.3 cm. These specimens are beloved by Butte / sulfide collectors and are increasingly more difficult to find on the market today. This piece dates back many decades, and features one of the largest individual Pyrite crystals I've seen from the locality. Priced at $4,000 in our inventory. The specimen comes with a FREE custom acrylic base for easy display!
