Item Description
Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most easily recognizeable and abundant display specimens in the world. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species. This dramatic large piece is highlighted by the well-placed, 3.4 x 3.4 x 3.2 cm, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, metallic pale golden color cube with the nifty intergrown pyrite on top. Uncommonly, the large cube is essentially pristine and the small cube has only a trivial bit of edge wear. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well known among collectors. Note that in the process of excavation, most such crystals pop out and are thus reattached to the matrix (it is hard to tell on this piece). This is a top quality specimen in this size range for a representative specimen good enough for any collection! Natural Cubist art. Impressive.
