Pyrite (ex Fioravanti and Van Tichelen Collections)

Item Description

Here we have a classic, sharp, metallic, brassy colored Pyrite crystal from one of the most classic localities for the species. This particular crytal does not show the typical pyritohedral habit, but rather a nearly textbook combination of octahedron and pyritohedron. The piece is nearly a "floater", as it is almost crystallized on every side. It's a superb example of Elba Pyrite, and should be appreciated for its wonderful form and size.
