Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this specimen is a very fine example. Mirror-bright, brass-yellow, intergrown, pyrite pyritohedrons cover the sculptural specimen. The striking, well-placed, largest crystal is 2.0 x 1.8 x 1.6 cm The pyritohedrons are beautifully striated. The textbook form and intense luster are top notch. Nearly pristine, trivial scattered edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction. Classic Huanzala material! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. Ex Consie Prince Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
