Item Description

Intergrown, lustrous, brassy pyritohedrons form an impressive and rare large specimen from an unknown locale in Chihuahua. The dramatic large and sharp crystal is 6.5 cm across. While pyrite is a common accessory from the mines of Chihuahua, specimens of this size, crystal size and richness are very uncommon. The noted contacting and bruising has minimal impact to this rare and hefty specimen. Possibly from either Santa Eulalia or Naica. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
