Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this large specimen is an excellent example. Striking, intergrown, bright, brassy, flat-topped, cuboctahedrons comprise this sculptural specimen. A very nifty feature of these octos are the unusual modified crystal edges and the etched/pitted prism faces. The crystals look like Mayan pyramids. The interior of the piece is pristine. Highly representative and showy material, in large size and high quality. Ex Art Soregaroli.
