Item Description

The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this aesthetic specimen is an outstanding example. Amazingly mirror-bright, brass-yellow, intergrown, pyrite cuboctahedrons comprise the sculptural specimen. The striking crowning crystal is 3.2 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm. The textbook form and intense luster are top notch and the beveled corners add character. Essentially pristine. The scattered periphery wear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction. Classic Huanzala material with several excellent display views! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! Ex Gene Meieran Collection and was part of his extensive and excellent sulfide sub-collection.
